The Waverly Consort

The Waverly Consort will be performing at the George Mason University
Center for the Arts on Friday, December 15, at 8:00 pm. Tickets are
$19-$30, students and children $10 (but there is a way that GMU students
can get tickets for free). There will be a pre-performance discussion at
7:00 PM with WETA's Robert Aubry Davis (who, if I recall, hosts
"Millenium of Music," which is NPR's weekly early music program). To
order tickets, call 703/993-8888.

The blurb on the brochure goeth thusly:

Eight singers and five players, using remarkable
reproductions of medieval instruments, present the
Biblical narrative in a stunning holiday pageant
as told through musical manuscripts of the medieval
and Renaissance eras. Fully staged, with thrilling
processionals and resplendent period costumes, the
program premiered at the Metropolitan Museum of Art
and is recorded on CBS Masterworks.
