I have a source for early Celtic/Anglo-Saxon costuming that you might be 
interested in. It is "Dress in Anglo-Saxon England" by Gale R. 
Owen-Crocker. It was produced by Manchester University Press in 1986. 
ISBN # 0-7190-1818-8. It discusses men's and women's dress in Western 
Europe (mostly Britain) from the 5th century to the 11th century, and has 
a short discussion on textile production during this time. Hope this
