Found a great book about the history of color and it's use..
Color and culture :pratice and meaning from antiquity to
abstraction.
the author is John Gage
published by little brown and company a bullfinch press book
goes into detail about what the palette's in history may
have looked like..how red isnt always red..missing color's
of history ect..
it also has one of the most extensive biliographies i have
seen on this subject.
