Spring's End -- Escorting in the Summer

MAY 10 - SATURDAY


Please join the Barony of Ponte Alto in welcoming in the summer with a
day of fi ghting and arts on May 10, 1997. This is your opportunity to
show off your heraldry in as many forms as possible (banners, guidons,
surcotes, tabards, etc) and fight (in as many forms as possible). There
will be both single combat and melee' tourneys as well as
authorizations.
The tourney will include a Passage of Arms. Non-combatants are
encouraged to bring instruments, games, and any A&S projects in
progress with them to share their talents with the populace. 

A light lunch will be served to all. The evening feast will be a
pot-luck,
with the Barony providing Roasted Beef and Ham, and will be outdoors
near the tourney field. T he site for this event is Lake Fairfax Park in
Reston, VA. As this site is fairly open, feel fre e to bring your
pavilions and
day shades to add beauty and shade for the day. Please note that the
site
is DRY!! Site opens at 10 am, and closes at 7:00p/ Dusk. Fees for this
event
are: $5 off board, $8 on-board. (Off-board fee includes lunch). Children
6-12 need only p ay half, those under 5 are guests of the Barony. 

DIRECTIONS: Take your best route to the Capitol Beltway in Northern
VA. Take Ex it 12 (Dulles Toll Rd) and go West. Take the Toll Road to
Hunter Mill Rd (Exit 14). Toll will be $0.75. Go north on Hunter Mill Rd
to Baron Cameron Ave. Go Left on Baron Camer on and take your first
Left onto Lake Fairfax Dr. SCA signs will guide you into and thr ough
the park from there.
