One of my favorite movies is "The Princess Bride", [Snip]
Were any of the following items made up out of whole cloth for
  the movie?

  Kingdom of Florin [Period coin]
  Kingdom of Guilder [Period coin]
Giants [The concept dates to Greek mythology]
  Spaniards [Period]
  Sicilians [Period]
  Shrieking Eels [No data]
  Swordfighting [See below]
  Revenge [Period, see Bible]
  Fire Swamp [No data]
Rodents of Unusual Size [No data]
  Albinos [No data]
  Brute Squad [No data]
  Holocaust Cloak [No data]

The swordfighting is particularly amusing, as the names of all the moves
(you remember, "Tybalt", "Capo Fero" and so forth) at the cliff top fencing
scene? Those names, and even some component of the moves, all came from
survinving historical fencing manuals, many of which are period or near
period.
