Ack! No guidelines, please. I like the way that the orders are
described now. Many people fit into those categoiries. If we start
"hammering out guidelines", we begin to exclude a portion of the
populace that just doesn't quite fit into the pigeon holes we then

I like the fact the the Orders of Merit in our kingdom can be widely and
even wildly interpreted. If we started paying attention to stringent
guidelines, then perhaps the Order of the Golden Dolphin might only be
for service at the kingdom level, although we all know that dedicated
service at the local level can quite effectively enrich the entire

Regardless, HOOO-AHHHHH for Anarra! She's writing letters and all of
us should be. I have written two-three letters each reign for the past
four reigns. All but one of those were acted on, folks. The royals do
listen to these and most of all, they really, really, really want you to
write them letters and help them recognize those that make their Kingdom
great. It's one of their most fun and important jobs. Writing a letter
is not just a service to the kingdom, when your letter of recommendation
is acted on, it is hard to stop grinning.;)

Let the Royals know who, what, why, you believe this individual is
deserving of recognition(and Becci's idea about suggesting more than one
option is way cool). Also give the Royals a where and when(events you
know the individual plans to attend) so they have a good chance of
making it happen during their reign.
