Also, households change with time, and it's good to assess the situation
on occasion and see if it's still a good fit.
As far as obligations, one might consider if one is becoming a
protege/squire/apprentice what one's oath really means and if one can
live up to it due to personal time constraints and other obligations,
etc..
Also, if your household goes to camping events, will you be expected to
camp together and help out with household projects?
My advice is hang around the household you're thinking of joining and
get an understanding of who they are and how they play and if you fit
into that before joining.
