Actually, my mother worked for several years at the Indian school in
Santa Fe, NM.  They take the entire week off for celebrations and
ceremonies.  I don't know if this is an incorporation of Indian
celebrations or the heavily Christian influences.  So...some cultures
within the New World still do celebrate the many different days of this
holiday!
