A few more.....

An excertpt from St. Patrick's "Breastplate," an 8th century hymn of
protection:
"At Tara today in this fateful hour
I place all heaven with its power
and the sun with its brightness
and the snow with its whiteness
and the fire with all the strength it has
and the lightning with its rapid wrath
and the winds with their swiftness
along their path
and the sea with its deepness
and the rocks with their steepness
and teh earth with its starkness;
all these I place, by God's almighty help and grace,
between myself and the powers of darkness."

"Celtic Rune of Hospitality" (I don't know the origin of this one)
I saw a stranger yesterday.
I put food in the eating place,
Drink in the drinking place,
Music in the listening place;
And in the sacred name of the Triune God
He blessed myself and my house,
My cattle and my dear ones.
And the lark says often in her song,
Often, often, often
Goes Christ in the stranger's guise."

"The Motto of the Fianna"
Truth in our hearts.
Strength in our hands.
Consistency in our tongues.

Aye,
Eogan Og
