As mentioned before, full plate is nowhere near the minimum
requirements for armor here in Atlantia. They may have simply been
speaking on what seems to be the armor norm to them (as opposed to the
legal minimum). As to what the average armor worn in Atlantia is, I
couldn't say -- it's certainly not full plate, but it's also most
definatley more than just the required minimum... :-)

Everything I have read on this topic states that new fighters are not reading
the rules carefully, if at all.
What I did when I was training someone was the first 1/2 hour of their first
day was spent explaning the rules and armor requirements, as I was handing
them a copy of said rules. Each practice was spent there after, going over the
rules. (this usually took 2 practices at most). After that they never had any
question of what was leagal and not. This has been a society wide problem. I
have experienced it in three other kingdoms and on the mailing List IronRose.
pLease don't just tell people what the rules are... Give them a copy. Dont
just tell them to go to the web page. Not everyone has the time to search
things out on it. also a new fighter may be turned off if you say, just go
here and get the info yourself. We as a hole are supposed to be teaching, not
pushing off to the web. As new fighter become more comfortable they start
looking for their own answers. All they need is a Leg up in the beginning.
