PONTE ALTO BARONIAL BIRTHDAY
Their Excellencies, Ranulf and Caitlyn, and the populace of the Barony of
Ponte Alto invites all to join us as we joyously celebrate our 7th Baronial
Birthday on the 27th of February AS XXXIII (1999 c.e.) at Falls Church
Presbyterian Church (225 E. Broad St., Falls Church, VA).
Planned activities to commemorate this event include the annual competition
for the Baronial Artisan and the Baronial Bard. These competitions are open
to the entire populace with the highest scoring member of the Barony
selected as the champion in that field for the coming year. This year we
will resurrect the Baronial Brewer competition as well. Please contact the
Baronial Champion in each field for specifics on the competitions. One
note, the site is dry. All entries for the brewing competition will need to
be submitted to Mistress Ursula d’Arcy by the 12th of February at the
newcomer’s meeting. Entries will be judged at the newcomer’s meeting and
the winner of this competition will be announced at the event.
Other activities will include dancing (with music provided by our own Harp
and Drum Corps), an A&S display for those who do not wish to compete and a
sumptuous feast for 120 (based upon their Excellencies favorite foods)
prepared by Winifred Corbet de Wynterwood and the cooks of Ponte Alto.
There will be limited off-board space.
The site will open at 10 am and close at 9 PM. Feast is planned to be
served at 4 PM. Costs for the day are on-board - $10, off-board - $4.
Children 5-12 are half price. Children 4 years and younger are guests of
the barony. Make checks payable to “Barony of Ponte Alto, SCA Inc”. Send
