Atlantian Coronation



CORONATION

The Barony of Storvik is honored to present the Coronation of Galmr and Katharina, on April 20 at the Ellicott City Armory. (Many thanks to our friends in Lochmere for use of the site).

SCHEDULE
   9:30a   - site opens
  10:00a  - authorizations
  11:00a  - Last Court of Their Majesties, Cuan and Brigit
  12:00p  - Coronation
    1:00p  - Tourney, followed by Rapier
    4:00p  - First Court of King Galmr and Queen Katharina
    5:00p  - Feast
    6:30p  - dancing and game playing
   11:00p - site closes

TOURNEY - A bear pit tourney fought in the holmgang style using only center-grip round shields and either swords or axes (or axes alone), [i.e. no heater shields, no two-swords, no pole-arms (other than axes), no great swords or spears].  The fighting will be in half hour blocks (should be two or four blocks depending on interest).

A&S COMPETITION  - "Their Majesties Treasure Chest"  Our new King and Queen will be travelling extensively during Their reign.  There will be a competition of small items that their Royal Majesties can use as gifts on Their travels.  Any items entered should be those the artisans will be willing to donate to the Kingdom.

RAPIER - Atlantia's new Free Scholars will play their prizes. After the formal prize-playing, they will be glad to entertain all authorized duelists (as time allows).

NOTICE:  The VIDEOTAPING of certain activities is planned.

Arrangements are being negotiated with several hotels in the area, and LIMITED crash space is available; contact Autocrat in advance.

COST - Paid reservations in hand -
BY APRIL 1:  ON board- $15.00, OFF board & day trip- $7.00.
BY APRIL 15: ON board- $17.00, OFF board & day trip- $8.00.
AFTER APRIL 15: No ON board or OFF board, day trip - $8.00.
Ages 6-12 half price.

RESERVATIONS - Reserve early as seating is limited for both ON board (250) and OFF board (75). For each reservation, list name,and type of reservation (on board, off board, day trip). SITE - Ellicott City Armory, 4244 Montgomery Rd, Ellicott City, MD. The site is wet.  (Maryland legal drinking age is 21.)  Parking only in designated areas.  Overflow-parking will be across the road, 1 block south, at Bethel BaptistChurch, and will be marked.

FROM THE SOUTH - From I-95 north of Washington, DC. Exit on RT 32 (to Columbia). Exit on RT 29 North to RT 100 exit (marked RT100/TO RT 103/ Saint Johns Lane). Take first exit onto RT 100 (marked TO RT 103). Go straight on Long Gate Parkway.  At end of Parkway turn LEFT on RT 103 (Montgomery Road). Drive approx. 1/4 mile,  Armory is on the LEFT.

FROM THE NORTH & WEST - take I-70. Exit onto RT 29 south. Drive 2.5 miles to RT 103/Saint Johns Lane exit. Turn LEFT at light onto RT 103 (Montgomery Road). Drive approximately 1/4 mile, Armory is on the RIGHT.
