Storvik's Baronial Championship event

Storvik's Baronial Championship Event will be held May 10-12th at beautiful
Patuxent River Park, in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

The Baron and Baroness of Storvik invite one and all to join together for a
weekend of fighting, feasting and festivity, as they seek those who
exemplify the skills and graces that further our enjoyment of these Current
Middle Ages.

Championships lists will be held on Saturday, and will include heavy
weapons, light weapons, and archery, Bardic Arts, and Arts & Sciences. A&S
competition will be held in two categories: first, =small= contributions to
the Baronial gift coffers, in the Barony's colors of blue, silver/white, and
red; second, best covering-up of an anachronism (cooler covers, directors'
chair drapes, disguises for mundane tents .. bounded only by your
imagination.) Lists will be open to all, and there will be prizes for all
victors, with the Baronial championship going to the highest-ranking
Storviki.

The site opens at 5 p.m. on Friday and closes Sunday at 4 p.m. The lists
will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, with armor inspection and authorizations
until 11:30, and competition thereafter. A splendid feast will be held
Saturday night; those wishing to join us on-board should mail
pre-registration fees to the Autocrat immediately, as there will be very
limited on-board space available at the door. On-board also includes a
light breakfast Sunday. This site is damp on a limited basis; only beer in
kegs, which will be available to those with proof of age, is permitted.
There may be a "Stone Soup" dinner on Friday; call or e-mail the Autocrat
for details or with dietary restrictions.

There will be children's activities, including arts & crafts, a nature walk,
a class on "court manners," and opportunities for service, but a parent must
be available to participate with the child; no baby-sitting will be
provided.

This is a camping event, and separate specific firesides will be designated
for evening entertainment (Bardic circle, dancing and drumming, and a quiet
area). We are hoping to have a significant Bardic presence at this event
and have set aside a beautiful grassy area, surrounded by woods, for the
evening's Bardic fireside.

Because we are restricted from accepting money on site, you are strongly
urged (PLEASE) to pre-register and pre-pay. This will save us all a trip
=back= off-site to a place where it is legal to exchange money. PLEASE.
  Pre-registration fees are: on-board, $15; off-board, $5; children under
12, half-price; children under 6, our guests.
