Admin: Digest now available!
Poster: Tanner Lovelace <email@example.com>
I was gone over the weekend and saw we've been pretty busy. I had
200 new messages from just the list alone. Well, I'm glad to say
some people will be able to get some relief now. The kind people
at NC State that host our list found the time recently to setup a
digest for our list. I include the relevant information below:
o Digest capability has now been engaged!
You can now send email to "firstname.lastname@example.org" and request
"subscribe atlantia-digest". The atlantia-digest holds approximately 40k
worth of messages in one mail message. For those who would like to
receive a one bundle "calli"-pult of mail thrown their way instead of one
message at a time.
Other improvements that have been made are as follows:
o You now have a WWW interface page to show all the current mail messages
are being added to the current digest. The address is
The tool we are using is called "hypermail" which generates listings based
on date, author, or subject of message.
But wait, there's still more!
o You now have a repository of email setup by volumes. You can get to the
digests by either:
1> click on "Mail Archives" on
-- or --
2> ftp to ftp.csc.ncsu.edu and look under
In either case, the digests are stored by volume and index number.
Volume numbers change monthly and index numbers change after 40k worth of
data. Volume one posted this morning at 10:15am. [ That would be Friday ]
Please send all thanks toward the people at NC State. Tim Lowman,
in particular. (email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org,

P.S. I have not had a chance to go through all 200 messages, yet, but
if someone has posted this before, I apologize for the redundant information.
I did notice that Calli had posted the WWW stuff, but I hadn't seen
the digest info.
