Wow! That was a grand excerpt. Thank you!

I wouldn't have called those boasts so much as personal attacks, however. 
They are still of great value; but I would probably not use that style 
unless my opponent was a good friend and knew the attack was coming.

Name-calling is a good and wonderful thing to engage in just before 
slaying your enemy and is, I think, to be encouraged. At the same time, I 
suspect that, like hot peppers, a little bit will go a long way for the 
average palate.

Have you any examples that are heavy on the extravagant boast and light 
on the slaying insult? I would like to hear a couple.
