Might I suggest that UBAG look into the assassins ca. the Third Crusade, 
who were led by a man who was known only as the Old Man of the Mountain 
(or some such) ... as I recall, this was the same band of assassins who 
pulled the "kamikaze Scotsmen" routine for a visiting Westerner.  There 
are several references to these assassins in accounts of the Third 
Crusade, especially around 1190.

Btw, Lord Beornheard, an organization of assassins would be a neat 
addition to the Acre event, what say you?
