Boy, what a good idea. No, really! This is the way the SCA works when it
works well. Everyone, almost, gets to attend any event they care to.
However, activities at these events are defined by the people running the
event. The autocrat has primary responsibility for deciding what activities
will be run at their event. Anyone who wants to conduct any activity, be it
a tourney, a feast, court, a quest, a witch hunt, or an assassination game,
should get an explicit OK from the autocrat. Preferably, this discussion
should be made conducted before the event. This way, the autocrat gets to
make the decisions about whether or not an activity is feasible, desirable
and appropriate for an SCA event. Yes, this leaves the autocrat with a
great deal of authority. That's fine with me. This way when I decide to
run an event, there will be no assassination games.

Richard
