You probably did see Groucho do it YBYL. In fact, in one of the films the
boys did (can't recall which one right now and it may have even been in a
couple) all of them wre doing it during one of the many scenes of mass
confusion. But it was Harpo who did most often and actually made a statement
out of it, as he did with so many of his physical actions.

Good Lord! I had to think about that a minute and name each of the
characters, but you're right. All of the names fit each character as easily
as any comedia character, though they come awfully close to Restoration too.
And while Gilligan could be interpreted as Harlequino, his relationship with
The Skipper was more that of Punch and Judy.

All of this reminds me that I need to get to work with Winifred on that
Comdeia Troupe we've been wanting to start up (hey Deirdre, more spiff A&S).
Too bad Restoration and Jacobean theatre are OOP for us. I haven't done
Sheridan, Garrick or Moliere in more years than I care to count.
