Memories of Kane and Muirgen
Poster: Rabah & Kara <rabah@ix.netcom.com>
Good gentles, I too have fond memories of Kane and Muirgen that I wish to share:
The happiness I felt when I got my AOA from Muirgen at Marinus' Baronial
Birthday and seeing her smile at my amazement (I was behind the throne
helping the court herald, Lord Arn Biorn Bassi Dansson, when he called my
name :-)
The look on Kane's face and the smirk on Muirgen's when I presented Kane
with a set of blind dice. Not just any set, but Mahagony blocks that were 2
inch cubes . . . Kane-sized dice. He was one of the few people who could
hold all six dice, let alone actually roll them . . .
Seeing the look on Kane's face at Kingdom 12th Night when my mundane
brother, Lord Dorian Longwind of Neumes, and his lady wife, Lady Ilya the
Fey, entered Kane and Muirgen's court after being away from Atlantia for
years. Even better was his reaction when they announced that they were there
to settle the matter of "back child support". (For those who don't know the
story, my brother and his lady adopted a baby girl who is of Jamaican/Samoan
ancestry - she bears a striking resemblance to Kane including the pout! I
understand this court appearance was part two of a story that started when
Kane & Muirgen were Baron and Baroness, and the baby was newly adopted . .
.Mistress Adendra could probably give more details.
Watching Kane later in that same court as he questioned Lord Zacharius
Ferntykylled about his offering the Queen a cloven fruit . . .
When Muirgen, after their reign, asked me what I had been up to, I replied
that I had been hanging around Zach and picking up bad habits. When she
pressed for details, I pulled out the cloven fruit from my sleeve . . .
Muirgen accepting the cloven fruit!
Listening to Kane purr when you scratched his back . . .
I am glad that I had the pleasure to know them, be called their
friend, and share their hugs and happiness. I send to them in their travel
the words of a song that my barbershop chorus sings:
Irish Blessing
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
May the rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again, may he hold you in his hand.
May God hold you, in the palm of his hand.
Mike, Sally . . . I'll miss you guys. I'll be looking for you on the next
turn of the wheel . . .
