Re: Escorting ladies and the like..and explaination

I've been following a little of this..not a lot, but enough to feel that my
two cents worth might be a good thing. I don't feel strongly about having
an escort into court, I'm perfectly capable of walking into the lion's den
<g> all by myself. However, it's always nice to be offered, especially if
my back and hips are out of kilter...and they do seem to go out at least
once a year. I tend towards sciatica, and have not just one but several
degenerated lumbar discs. So, should the occasion arise and Einar's not
around to walk me in and it is obvious that one hip has kinked up higher
than the other, then assistance is not just a nicety, but a necessity.
Likewise with unloading the car at events, setting up a tent, lugging my
spinning/needlework basket up to the battlefield at Pennsic, etc. If I'm
trying to carry too much (usually the case), PLEASE be kind enough to offer
a helping hand. I'm usually rushing around to get the necessary set up done
so I can change and go have fun. I won't bite anyone's head off - unless
you catch me pre-coffee <GRIN>!
In fact, if I am having back trouble at an event and somebody doesn't help
me with something I'm carrying, I'll really start to worry about the SCA!
Mind you, that hasn't happened...
Elen (being ladylike for a change!)
