Yeah, it is a joke.  Well, not entirely a joke.  The vote for
rec.music.white-power was over with several months ago. It was
defeated rather resoundingly, iirc.  Anyway, if you voted this way, it
would not be counted.  This is an illegal way to acquire votes in the
newsgroup creation process.  Please go and read news.announce.newusers for
more information about how Usenet works and how newsgroups are created.
You can also try to read news.groups to see the process in action.  Be
warned, though, you'll have to wade through a lot of BS.  Someone has
decided to resurrect this rmw-p thing for some twisted reason.  Anytime
you receive mail about a new group, please go to the above mentioned
newsgroups and find out if the message is legit.  Everyone does indeed
have a vote, but you must follow proper procedure.   FYI, there are big
changes on the horizon for this, so please keep yourselves informed.
