Returns for re-draw

Poster: Beverly Robinson-Curry <corvus2@postoffice.worldnet.att.net>

I flubbed this earlier by not checking to see who it was replying to...
Instead of going to the list, it just went to the original poster...

This *is* occasionally done, however, if the submitter is not available, has
forgotten to pay their phone bill, moved out on their roommate, etc., the
meeting has to go on and a decision has to be made. I don't know if Kofryna
was available for a call or even if one was attempted. I am currently not
allowing pending devices from one meeting to the next mainly due to the fact
that very often *pended* items disappear between one meeting and the next
month's meeting, never to be seen again and we already have way too many
lost submissions to track down. I do not believe Laurel allows many pended
items either, otherwise, she would probably be up to the ceiling in pended
items and unable to process anything new.

In some cases, the return for re-draw is absolutely necessary (I posted a
list earlier, but haven't seen it come through yet). And if the herald
doesn't return it, he/she would have to re-draw it themselves, make the
copies, do the coloring, etc. If you had seven items which needed
re-drawing on a specific month, that's a good two+ hours' time extra the
herald has to put in if he doesn't return them. Besides, you certainly
don't want someone like me to be drawing your device... Do the words
"Crayola Challenged" mean anything? I happen to be quite fond of the cut,
paste, copy method of designing heraldry... Or bugging an artistic friend
to draw it for me...
