THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WERE RETURNED:

Barbara Giomaria di Roberto - augmentation of arms
Argent, a chevron inverted azure, in chief a brown hen passant proper, in
base on an escutcheon sable an increscent and a base indented of three
points argent.  This is being returned for a redesign.  The argent base on
the augmentation has no contrast with the argent field.  If the base were
turned into a mountain of three peaks couped, it could easily be entirely on
the sable field of the augmentation, which would resolve the problem while
retaining as much of the identity of the augmentation as is possible.

Eleanor Hamilton - new device
Per chevron argent crusily vert and vert, in base a garb or
This is being returned for a redraw.  The 'per chevron' line of division is
too low.  It is also too high to be a point pointed.  No other problems were
found with this device.

Geffrei Maudeleyne - name correction
Registered as Maudeleyne 4/96, the submitter really wants Maudelayne.
Reaney and Wilson 3 gives the registered spelling but does not list the
desired spelling.  The name was submitted with the "a" and changed by Laurel
to the documentable form, according to the information I found in the Laurel
files.  If the submitter wishes to change this, it will require a formal
name change with documentation to support the desired spelling.  Based on my
research, I must return this request for a correction of spelling.

Sebastian Silverwolfe - new device
Azure, a bend between six wolves rampant argent
This is being returned for conflict with the arms of Geoffrey Luttrell,
Azure, a bend between six martletts argent.  There is a CD for the change
from martletts to wolves, but no others.  A variety of treatments could
clear the conflict.  For example, one could make the bend bumpity or charge
the bend, or add a chief.

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS HAVE BEEN PENDED:

Luisa O'Reilly - new name and device
Or, an inkpot sable between three hummingbirds purpure
This name combines a Spanish given name with an anglicized Irish byname
which is just a bit too weird.  I am pending this for a month to give the
submitter a change to think about what is most important.  I note that the
submitter's mundane surname is Riley, so Luisa Riley would pass muster under
the mundane name allowance.  However, I would prefer to come to a solution
that is documentable or at least justifiable.

Maire Aodhnait O' Donnabhain - new name and device
Purpure, a bend gules fimbriated Or, in chief an increscent, a chief Or
This name uses two given names which is unheard of in period Irish names.  I
am pending this for a month to give the submitter a chance to decide which
name to delete rather than simply returning it.

Meadhbh Fionnghuala O' Donnabhain - new name and device
Per bend purpure and sable, a bend enarched between two lozenges argent
This name uses two given names which is unheard of in period Irish names.  I
am pending this for a month to give the submitter a chance to decide which
name to delete rather than simply returning it.  In addition, the given
names use the modern form which probably did not exist before the spelling
reforms of this century.
