Siege of Glengary - September 26-28

On a dark mist shrouded mountain in a land known as AEthelmearc
a war drum thunders, battle horns throughout the land take up
this call to war. For once again the English dogs are on the prowl
& only the blood of Scots will sate their hunger! To all who
read these words or hear our plight, the shire of Sylvan Glen and
the Atlantian Barony of Storvik invite you to the first combat event in the
new kingdom of AEthelmearc, the Siege of Glengary. Come & choose sides,
defend the mock "keep" & war chest from the marauding
English, or kill the Scots, plunder the keep & split the spoils.
Either way, it will be a glorious battle!

The site opens Friday, September 26, at 12 noon & closes at 5 PM
Sunday, September 28, & is located at the beautiful Lazy A
Campground in Glengary WV. A simple but hearty tavern style meal
will be served to 175 *pre-registered* gentles on Saturday evening,
complete with serving wenches & live entertainment. The site has
some limited electrical hook-ups (first come, first served), hot showers,
and is completely wet (period containers only).

Other activities include: Best & Worst uses of plaid competition, court
dancing, an A & S display, a brewing competition (please pre-register to
enter the competion), organized children's
activities, a large bon-fire & dancing girls, a gambling den,
assorted games such as the infamous sheep toss competion & rumor
has it that Clan Drunken Badger is brewing up a party for Saturday night.
There will also be archery competitions which include: Royal
Rounds & several novelty shoots. Light & Heavy combat archers for
the siege are most welcome.

All fighters are required to bring something *useful to fighters*
to contribute to the war chest, such as a roll of duct tape, a
handful of rivets, etc.

Merchants are welcome and there is no merchant fee, though a small donation
for prizes would be appreciated. Pets are allowed, but all animals must be
on a leash or a tether.
