Ice Castles and Baronial Investiture
Barony of Black Diamond
January 31, 1997

	The Barony of Black Diamond invites the populace of Atlantia to
join us in celebrating our Baronial Birthday and the Investiture of our
new Baron and Baroness at the National Guard Armory in Lexington, VA.
This is a wonderful site with a large main hall, a classroom, and
bathrooms with showers all handicapped accessible!  An unofficial fighter
practice will be held on Sunday, February 1st at the Washington and Lee
University Student Pavilion, a 5 minute drive from the site. 
	Activities during the day will include the traditional three man
melee tourney, an Arts and Sciences Competition, and various children's
activities.  The themes for the Arts and Science Competition will be
Period Toys and Period Children's Garb.  Please direct all questions about

	Merchants are welcome.  There are no merchanting fees.
	A delicious feast is being prepared by Lord Morien, assisted by
Baron Francis of Aaron Isles, Lord Uilliam MacCloskey, and Lord Aldred
Blackwood.  Seating is limited to 200 so please reserve on board early.
The site is wet.  Cost of the event is $10.00 onboard, $6.00 offboard.
Children between ages 6 and 12 are half-price, under 6 free.   Please
indicate names of all persons included in multiple reservations, and ages
if applicable.  Please send reservations to Lord James Beckett of

	Directions: The site is the National Guard Armory in Lexington,
VA.  Site opens at 8 AM Saturday, January 31st.  Take your best route to
I-81. Take I-81 to exit 191 (I-64 West)  Go approx 1/4 mile to exit 55.
Take a left at the end of the ramp onto Rt. 11 North.  Take a right at the
first light.  Take the first left past the Rockbridge County High School
(It will look like you're entering the parking lot).  The Armory is at the
end of the road.  There will be SCA signs along the way.  Directions to
the W&L Pavilion will be available at the event, or call Lord James of
