   Isn't it a question of the real value of the book ?   A paperback is
designed as a throwaway item of low quality paper and binding,  to take the
abuse and then just fall apart....   Whereas a tome of high value and fine
paper that will not fall apart after a few years is one that is not to be
abused with foldings and flattenings....
