NC Renaissance Faire and Raleigh Gem Show dates

Greetings All,

Just to give you a chance to go if you wish to plan ahead:

The North Carolina Renaissance Faire (In Raleigh, Not Charlotte, it's
different) will be March 28th and 29th 10am to 6 pm at the North 
Carolina State Fairgrounds just west of Raleigh on Hillsborough St.

This is it's fourth year, and it is getting better. It started out in
a church parking lot with SCA help and has been steadily improving.
This is not the same as a Renn Faire with a permanent site but it
was pretty nice last year. You should have seen Sir Eldred and his
partner fully barded and armored on their huge Percheron horses. This
year the event will include jousting by a regular touring company.

There was a good assortment of merchants last year and the SCA
put on quite a good show. I am not sure just what the arrangements
are this year in regards to SCA participation. The primary persons
in charge seem to keep changing. How involved the church may still be
I don't know. There was other entertainment besides the SCA. Many kinds.
Quite a bit for children to do too.

For the locals who love to go - the Raleigh Gem show is April 3-5 at 
the Kerr Scott Building at the same fairgrounds. There will be two 
more this year I think, possibly three.
