While I agree that confronting the King and Queen with a petition at Court is
inappropriate and could be considered "strong-arming" (shades of Magna
Carta!), I have to say that I believe a petition presented privately for Their
Majesties' consideration and action is entirely proper.  Of course,
considering that such a petition is mostly responsible for my receiving a
Court Baronage, I suppose my opinion may be a trifle biased . . .
