Why fingers?!?!?!

     Take away an archer's fingers, especially on his draw hand and he's no 
     longer a weapon. It's called "purposeful mutilation" and is like 
     wounding instead of killing a soldier. Wounding requires at least two 
     comrades to carry the victim out. Merely a tactical strategy.
