Head Thrusts

In real combat it would almost never be a telling blow.
Slipping or angling the head or body to invalidate a hit has been a
commonly taught defensive tactic since before Rome. Check either Chinese
or arabic references.
While a thrust to the head is not a telling blow and need not be
counted, 2 or 3 such shots will certainly keep an opponent off balance
and/or out of position.
Personally even if its a thrust, a hard enough shot to the head makes me
WANT to go down.
