As a college student , I always feel strapped for money (that is why evil
people invented the credit card). This is not to say I don't spend when I
really want something - I do.  If you really want it, you find a way.  You
just have to choose what you want most.

I happened to want a harp. I have one. I had to build most of it myself,
you might have to get creative when you really want something but it can be
done.
