She's also the author of a book on training female fighters, and
mundanely is an MP, I think, and has military training experience. Her
class, which I've had a couple of times now, is great - both for the
women fighters and for the folks who are trying to train them.
The EK Southern War Practice was also one of the best events I went to
last year. *Lots* of fighting, a great site, a terrific feast, good
parties afterwards - and it's only 90 minutes from DC....

although the web site is pretty out of date and doesn't have much
information (there's some links to armor patterns and stuff, but nothing
you couldn't find on your own.)
The e-list is better, although the noise ratio is pretty high (I was a
'founding subscriber' but keep having to unsubscribe when the volume
gets high and the content gets too low (ie discussions of Xena, etc.)
