HARP FOR SALE

Poster: MCAMEROUN@aol.com

My apologies for taking up the bandwidth of the Merry Rose for such a crass,
commercial announcement, but I figured that this would be the best way to
reach those folks who might be interested. Many thanks for your patience.

OK, I find I'm having to bite the bullet. After many months of agonizing, and
wavering back and forth, I have finally decided to sell at least one of my
harps. After all (she rationalizes) you can't play three harps at once, can
you? Not to mention my need to raise cash for a trip to London I hope to take
in the fall (V&A, here I come!). And so, for those who are interested, I am
selling my 31-string floor harp (to a good home only).

She was made from a Musicmaker's pattern by Silvershell Musical Instruments
(one of the folks who sell at Pennsic, which is where I bought her a year and
a half ago). She has nylon strings, sharping levers on the B's, C's and F's
(Lovelands, which I installed myself), and (since I believe in full
disclosure) a superficial hairline crack on the upper part of the harmonic
curve (which I do not believe is dangerous to the integrity of the harp, since
the curve is made of plywood laid in an alternating grain pattern). She has a
light tension, and a walnut finish. Not to mention the fact that she has a
very sweet tone ( wouldn't have bought her if she didn't - and I've been
playing long enough to know the difference).

This is a wonderful harp for someone who may not have a lot of money
(relatively speaking), but is ready to either begin playing (she's a good harp
for a beginner) or is ready to graduate from a smaller harp. I wouldn't even
consider selling her if it weren't for the fact that she has sat neglected in
my living room since I bought my Aziliz last April, and I'm a firm believer in
PLAYING what you own (not to mention the fact that my Aziliz is getting quite
jealous of the space).

(There may also be a possibility that I will REALLY bite the bullet, and sell
my 22-string lap-harp as well . . . I haven't decided on that one yet. <g>)

If you are interested (please, serious inquiries only!), please e-mail me,
using the subject heading above. I will then send you a reply to let you know
what the terms of sale are. I assure you -- the asking price is quite
reasonable for a harp this size. She (and probably the lap harp) will be
available for viewing and/or playing at Coronation. It is my hope that some
lucky person at that event will take her home.

In service to Atlantia and Courtesy,

Margaret Cameron
