Yes.
How DID people react in period?
I, personally, haven't gotten a clear picture of how my peronsa would ahve reacted to a lot of the things, besides thinking many of you are COMPLETE idiots and should be avoided at all cost.
But then the best that I've gotten in reactions are books written by people who were, probably at best, "guessing", based on how people reacted to cultures that they had no prior contact with, and were viewing.
Okay, what I'm saying is that the way the SCA is, there's lots of cultures in one simple little area, lots of pieces thrown at you, but in period, you probably might not have encountered half the cultures you see in the SCA, so it's difficult to know, plus the whole thing OF switching periods.  Lots of ideals and ideas DO clash between periods, between rulers, between wars, etc.
Trying to establish a perona is easy.  Trying to figure out how it will react to al of this??  If thre was something like this IN period, it'd be no problem.
You bring a person FROM period into this, and even if s/he didn't notice they weren't in their period anymore, us acting completely within our periods, and they'd still be lost and scared in this entire thing, IMPO.
DOesn't mean this is exactly true, but it's my openion.
