More than hinted, Pedro. Our school systems, such as they are, make
passing mention of Greek and Roman slaves and then treat American
plantation slavery as if it sprang full-blown from the head of
Medusa, with no antecedents whatsoever.
On the contrary, chattel slavery persisted all through and well past
period. The Church didn't allow good Christians to hold other
Christians as slaves, but infidels and heathens were fair game.
