photos and the web

Rabah writes he has no problem about what is posted to a private
webpage. Actually, this issue is now coming into question with the
recent Nuremburg Files Website decision. While the circumstances are
totally different, it does leave private websites open for lawsuits.
In anycase, it should be remembered to ask permission of anyone who is
pictured on a private website too. There are those where membership in
the SCA can have a negative impact on their job situation.
(From personal experience, I had such a job in which the admitting SCA
membership was the equivalent of coming out while in the military).
The moral of the story is be polite and ask before doing.
