Stierbach Birthday Bullfights

The people of Stierbach invite you to join us in celebration of our
birthday.
Do honor to your ladies and the Kingdom of Atlantia by participating in
our varied tournaments (heavy, rapier, archery, and throwing weapons). 
Relax with singing, feasting, gaming, Heraldic Cookie decorating, and
croquet at Log Cabin Campgrounds just outside Winchester, Virginia.

This year's Arts and Sciences competition is themed 'Do Honor to Your
Consort'.   The categories are: Illumination, Poetry, Needlework,
Textiles, and Performance art.    Documentation is not mandatory,
however points will be assigned if your item is documented.  No more
than three items per category per entrant. 

Offered this year is a forum whereby people who want help working on a
Project can sit down with other artisans and get helpful tips, suggest
improvements, and offer comments.  Peers are encouraged to attend.

Our feast is being prepared once again by Jenet Fairhaugh and her staff
of dedicated cooks.  Lunch will be offered at a nominal fee.  Any
dietary concerns should be addressed to Jenet at
lbuschbaum@arslimited.com or by phone at (703)878-3471.  The feast is
limited to 140.

1st Course -	Bread with assorted butters, Summer salad (oil and vinegar,
oil and herb dressings)
2nd Course -	Cold Roasted Chicken (lemon spiced chicken, traditional
roasted chicken)
Broccoli and cheese ( a favorite from last year), Copper Pennies
(candied carrots)
3rd Course -	Cold Roast Beef  (with hot au jus or horseradish on the
side)
Saffron Rice, Roasted potatoes
Dessert:  	An assortment of berry pies (depending on seasonal
availability)
Beverages:  	Lemonade and Ice Cold Water

The site will open on Friday at 3pm and close on Sunday at 3pm.  Almost
all
Of the tenting sites are shaded so it should be lovely!  Camping is by
tent only, as there are no cabins at the site.  The site is wet, however
no original containers please, and be prepared to show ID, no one under
21 will be permitted to drink alcohol.  Children under 12 are half
price, children under 6 are the guests of the Barony.  Please make
checks payable to The Barony of Stierbach, SCA. Inc.  Merchants are very
welcome, please contact the autocrat!

Directions:
>From the East, North or South:
Take your best route to I-81, in the vicinity of Winchester, VA. Take
State route 37 to US 522 North. Take US 522 N for 15.5 miles to County
Route  694, on the right. Follow Rt. 694 for 1.4 miles to
Frederick-Morgan Grade (County Route 600). Make a sharp right and
continue .4 miles to Log Cabin Campground on the left.

>From the West:
Take I-70 or I-68 East to Hancock, MD. At Hancock take US 522 South into
VA.  About 5 miles inside of VA, make a left unto County Road 694.
Follow Rt. 694 for 1.4 miles to Frederick-Morgan Grade (County Route
600). Make a sharp right and continue .4 miles to Log Cabin Campground
on the left.
