May KMoAS Acorn Letter

Greetings unto the local A&S officers and those who read this missive
from Genevieve d'Aquitiane, KMoAS.

I hope all is well with everyone and that the lovely spring season is
being enjoyed by each of you. I would like to apologize for not
submitting a letter to the April Acorn, as I was readying myself and
others to head south for the great Gulf War.

The first thing that I would like to announce is the formation of a
Kingdom-wide Embroiderers' Guild. You can see some information about
how the guild is developing at this webpage:

http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Crete/1581/guild/

Right now they are starting up a couple of group projects, and hopefully
putting together a track of classes for the "Miniversity" at the
Kingdom Arts Festival. They are still in the guild-building process,
so now is a good time to get in at the "ground floor," so to speak!
If you're interested in finding out more about the guild, or if you'd
like to teach a class on the embroidery track, please drop my deputy an
email (karen_larsdatter@yahoo.com). If you do not have internet
access, and are interested, please give me a call, and I will be happy
to put you in touch with the organizer.

Speaking of Kingdom Arts and Sciences Festival, it will be taking place
July 10th, in the Barony of Stierbach in Harrisonburg, VA. We
anticipate a beautiful site, with fun activities scheduled throughout
the day. The University of Atlantia will be holding a Miniversity on
site both Saturday and Sunday. For more information it is best to
contact the University Chancellor, Mistress Keilyn FitzWarin, whose
information is in the Regnum. I hear a rumor that there will be a
Laurel's Prize Tourney, much like the first A&S Festival. The Royal
Brewer will be holding the competition to replace him. If you are
interested in becoming the next Royal Brewer, please contact Master
Terafan Greydragon. The Royal Armourer is also sponsoring an armour
competition. Please direct questions concerning this to Count
Thorbrandr Olafsson. The Poeta Atlantia was also going to sponsor a
poetry competition. For more information please contact Lady Tehair
MacDiarmada. All of the Royal Notables have contact information in the
Regnum. In addition to those sponsored by Their Majesties' talented
notables, this office will be sponsoring a Veil competition inspired by
Her Majesty, Queen Niobe Lais. If you have any questions regarding
this, please contact me. The autocrat of this fine event is the lovely
and talented Lady Arianna Morgan, whose contact information can be found
under MD deputy to the Kingdom Seneschal in the Regnum.

In closing, I hope to be able to boast of many fine entries in the Roll
of Arms Competition to be held at Crown. I pray for health in the heirs
to Stephan and Niobe. Enjoy the gentle weather when we are blessed with
such.

In Service,
Genevieve d'Aquitiane
