coat of arms research

Poster: Betty Eyer <betty_eyer@yahoo.com>

Actually, my persona argument saved my name from the ax! The herald
making out my paperwork was irritated with the combination of French
and Germanic forms in my name. I told him that I was Flemish and that
is a hallmark of Flemish names. It helped that I had lots of
documented examples (Hans de Hazebrouck, Madeline van Haasbrouck,
etc...). Which is good, because although I think I match "Magdalena",
I am not nice enough to be a "Madeline".

Moral of story - do your research....
