Re: A great idea!

IMO, if you don't have your social security number, your driver's license
number, and your license plate number memorized, you're just asking for
trouble at some point. My driver's license number in the back of my head
saved my a** during an Operation Eagle (for those of you outside NC, that's
where they blockade the road and ask to see your license, which is all
they're legally able to stop you for, but they're really looking for drunks)
because I was able to rattle it off at him. Confused the heck out of the
poor cop ("let me get this straight. You don't have your license but you
know your license NUMBER?") but they let me go since they weren't looking
for people driving without their license. And that ain't no small potatoes
in NC... driving without a license, even if you actually have a license, is
a serious no-no.
Not only that, but if you're driving someone else's vehicle, make sure you
have registration AND proof of insurance if you're out of state because you
probably don't know what that particular state's laws are on that. And make
sure you know what's in the vehicle...
That's a longer, sillier story.

Jonathan Blackbow
