Re: A Ghost Story

Luther of Stiebach has told a story about what a man encountered while deer
hunting, and it brings to mind a true story that happened to Bagshi Khan of
the Dark Horde Moritu one year when he was out deer hunting with some friends
in the wilds of Wisconsin.

Bagshi and two of his friends were out early one morning, hoping to bag
some deer. They were walking down a narrow fire trail in a single file,
spaced about thirty feet apart from one another, Bagshi in the middle.
They had been shooting at deer for some time, but with no luck at all.
Suddenly, they espied a large deer, about an eight point buck, standing
in the trees very near. This deer was merely standing quietly, watching
the three hunters, and might as well have been describing an X across
its heart as if to say "right here's a good spot to shoot." Well, Bagshi,
being closest, was afforded the shot. He raised his single shot rifle,
took careful aim, confident that at that range he couldn't miss, and
pulled the trigger......and nothing happened. The gun had misfired. The
deer had still not moved, and so, eager not to miss such an opportunity,
the man to Bagshi's right raised his rifle, took careful aim......and
misfired. Now the third fellow in the line, sporting a several round
semi-auto, took aim....misfire....eject....misfire.

The deer, with as amused a look on it's face as a deer can get, sauntered
casually off into the woods, as if to say "Thanks for the show fellas."
Bagshi and company merely looked at one another in stunned silence before
calling it a day.

And that's the story of how Bagshi Khan met Herne the Horned God in the
woods of Wisconsin.
