As a footnote to those who were unfortunate enough to miss the game
at Emerald, the above remark refers to one of the big highlights of
the game there: one of the players attempted to kick the ball in the
open field and missed, sending his boot about 30 yards downfield.
The boot was subsequently used as an extra ball for a while, and
play continued both with the original ball and the bootball, although
I do not believe that anyone managed to score with the bootball.
