It's My Armor

Alfredo el Bufon issues greetings unto the habitues of the Merry Rose!

I have not heard a song here in some while, so I will
provide one now. I wrote this song some years ago
whilst living in the nameless kingdom of the east.
I belief that it epitomizes the spirit of an armored
fighter, and that it makes a good marching song, but
as I neither am a fighter, nor have heard from any
such regarding this song, my belief is quite unfounded.

The war is long,
And fighters must bear the heat
In clothing that has been steeled
And annealed.
But I'm strong,
Strong enough to wear these things.
It ain't heavy; it's my armor.

So on we go.
I'm covered from head to feet.
No burden is this to wield;
It's my shield.
And I know
It would not encumber me.
It ain't heavy; it's my armor.

If I'm laden at all,
I'm laden with disgust
That everyone's heart isn't filled with the bloodlust
Of war with one another.

We are strong, strong foes,
For which there is no retreat.
While we're on the battlefield
We'll not yield.
And my clothes
Do not weigh me down at all.
It ain't heavy; it's my armor.
