Isn't the Merry Rose a "tavern at Cheapside"?  If I were going to the 
Tipsy Owl to tie one on or just hang out, I would not address the 
assembled 
company as "Good Gentles of the Tipsy Owl".  My question is, as long as 
hairs are being split as to correct form of address, what sort of place 
is the 
Merry Rose?
