Coronation Song of Kane and Muirgen
Poster: Bards keep <s0jswelc@atlas.vcu.edu>
A Song written for the Coronation of Their August Majesties of
Atlantia, Syr Kane and Mistress Muirgen.
" Sweet Muirgen, Sweet Muirgen,
I'll claim you my prize.
The light of my soul is there
in your eyes.
I'll keep you and hold you
with love that ne'er dies,
and have you forever!"
Oh good Kane he cries.
"Oh Syr Kane, Oh Syr Kane
my heart is for you.
It sings with a love that is
constant and true;
my heart tells no stories,
my heart it ne'er lies,
my love you have always!"
sweet Muirgen did cry.
Rejoice, good Atlantians
at Kane and his bride;
the heirs to Atlantia,
from zenith to tide.
My heart sings out gladly,
my heart sings out true,
your good King and fair Queen
have come unto you.
What homage do kings
hold unto Their lands?
'Tis not but a handful
of flowers and sand.
'Tho green grows your grasses
and high your mountains,
Oh cherish Your subjects,
and those you command.
What King knows this better
than Black Kane the bold?
To Him, His people are
more precious than gold!
And honor and courage,
this man He knows true.
A King amoung kings,
so crown him we do.
And what makes a true
and virtious Queen?
That bards and great troubadour's
gaily sing?
'Tis not for the riches,
nor the dowery she holds,
but for Her great spirit,
and her heart made of gold.
Oh Muirgen, Oh Muirgen,
no name sounds so true.
My soul and my sword
are pledged always to you!
Oh sweetest of ladies
and greatest of Queen's,
You make real the fanasty
that is our great Dream!
Shout gladly Atlantia,
and let out your song!
And let it ring wildly
and boldly and strong!
Let all hear your praises
and then have them sing,
of Black Kane O'Shannon
and sweet Muirgen his Queen.
May God in His Mercy, grant Them grace.
And peace to Their families and House.
The Honourable Lord Bryce de Byram, esq.,former proteige to Her
Excellancy, Countess Muirgen of Caer Dubh,OP
