er, wait, I can understand the idea of offering escort to a lady as common
courtesy [and I'll agree that *offering* escort to a lady might be], but
when/where/how is bowing to a throne common courtesy?!?? I could see
saying it's a great traditional show of respect or some such thing [tho'
not in my experience] but I can't see it as common courtesy.. who are you
being courteous to after all?
