That is a good average value, however my most educational college
career taught me the following rules.
   1) Morning is that time between getting up and lunch.
      a) In the event that no meal is eaten that can reasonably be
considered lunch, the first solid food from a vending machine
         after breakfast counts.
      b) In the event that no meal is eaten that can reasonably be
considered breakfast, the first solid food from a vending
         machine after getting up counts.
   2) In the event that you have been up for more than 24 hours,
      morning starts with breakfast.
      a) In the event that no meal is eaten that can reasonably be
considered breakfast, the first solid food from a vending
         machine after sunrise counts.
      b) If someone is still up to see a sunrise, they have the option
of declaring morning to begin at that time. (This option was
almost never exercised, since it would actually put on in
sync with the dreaded "real world".)

Can you guess much of my college career was spent in computer centers
after the wimps had given up and gone to bed so I could get more CPU
cycles?

"Sleep is for wimps. Happy, healthy, well-rested wimps, but wimps
nonetheless."
