Irish Celtic Visitors/Clothing Info

Poster: nancy lynch <lughbec@erols.com>

Greetings from TH Lady Lughbec ni Eoin and Lord Conchobhar
O'Loingseachain,
Having only a short time to visit your fair Kingdom of Atlantia (in
Baltimore, MD)we are desirous of gleaning information on the gatherings
and period entertainments to be found here and within a couple hours
driving time through the month of June. Then we return to our home
Kingdom of the Outlands (Greeley, CO).

We would greatly appreciate a copy of your newsletter, the Acorn, and a
map of everyday place names with the SCA names. Please let us know how
this can be achieved.

Also, I have compiled a 12 page documentation of Irish Celtic clothing.
Included are complete outfits garmenting both a 9th Century Nobleman and
a 15th Cen. Noblelady. These documents include info and drawings of the
fuan, leina, crys, truibas, mantle, camisi, the Shinrone gown, caille,
and some notes on personal adornment.

I am willing to *trade* these to any interested persons for other
costuming information (of any culture), book lists of period information
pertaining to any of these subjects; blacksmithing - archery -
metal casting - needlework - fencing - or Irish period anything, Irish
recipes or songs, or anything you are skilled at that I may want (and
don't know it yet!). Our interests are varied and we are always looking
for fertilizer for our garden of knowlege.

It is my ambition to continue learning of period costuming and
specialize in Irish clothing. I have been a theatrical costumer for
over 20 years (ack! has it been that long???) specializing in period
pieces. I love the research and ornamentation and I also love teaching,
so....anyone out there having any information that could assist me in
my quest, please, let's get together! Learning is such fun!

We are glad to be out here in your beautiful Kingdom and look forward to
meeting many of you while we are here.

In Service to the Dream,
THL Lughbec ni Eoin
