The York Cycle 1998

Poster: SWMyers@aol.com

Unto the medieval drama enthusiasts in the Merry Rose, Bran Trefonnen sends
greetings and an invitation...

In 1977 the Poculi Ludique Societas (PLS) in conjunction with the University
of Toronto and with the assistance of over forty drama groups from schools,
universities, churches, and community theatres, presented the first
performance in North America of the complete York Cycle of biblical plays. On
Midsummer's Day 1998 they plan to do it again. This is a complete, accurate,
and period re-creation of those plays (ca. 1475 A.D.) and they become the
educational standard for teaching these plays throughout the world.

I have been invited to produce and direct two of those plays and would like
to involve the SCA in one of them. The plays will be performed on wagons at
four sites around the campus of Victoria College, University of Toronto on
Saturday, 21 June 1998.

If you have an interest in medieval drama or just theatre, in general, and
would like to become involved in this project, please feel free to contact
me.

I remain,
BRAN TREFONNEN
House Corvus, Sacred Stone
