Yup.  Yosef Alaric of the Baliset was invested as Sheriff of Smoking Rocks more than 20 years ago (on the same day that the neighbouring group was elevated to Baronial status as the Barony of the Bridge).  I can speak with authority on this point since Yosef was the first person I spoke to at my first SCA meeting and even today he is my merchanting partner at Pennsic (visit Silver Dragon Company, usually on Bow Street near the Bathhouse!!!).
